Alta M. (Coughenour) Keefer

Alta M. Keefer, 95, Berlin, formerly of Rockwood, died Feb. 15, 2018 at Somerset In Touch Hospice House. Born Oct. 6, 1922 in Rockwood, daughter of Harvey and Mary Ellen (Henry) Coughenour. Preceded in death by parents, husband William Lloyd Keefer, son Gerald, daughter Wanda Leer, brothers Glenn and Wilmer Coughenour, infant brother Oscar, sister Melda Snyder, and an infant sister. Survived by daughter: Glenda (Bill) Brown of Cumberland, MD; grandchildren: Michelle Putman, Mark, Michael, and Gina Keefer, Valerie Robinette, Melissa Brown, Vaughan and Eric Leer, and Vashela Albright; 12 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. She was a retired clerk from the former Riverside Market in Somerset. She formerly attended St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Rockwood. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Rev. Larry Stevens officiating.
