Daniel Webster Swank, 79, Markleysburg, formerly of Somerset, died April 10, 2017 at Uniontown Hospital. Born Feb. 9, 1938 in Somerset, son of Harold C. and Jane V. (Dinning) Swank. Preceded in death by parents and brother Millard “Mike”. Survived by children: Sally married to James Shroyer, Sipesville, Dianne married to Tim Harris, Meyersdale, Dan and wife Eileen, Atlanta, Ga., Doug, and Eric and wife Jennifer, Markleysburg; grandchildren: Mark (Megan) Shroyer, Mandy (Pat) Wood, Megan (Tyler Hetz) Harris and Bryan (Brittany) Harris, and Jordan Swank; three great grandchildren; brother H. Terry (Fran) Swank, Somerset, and sister-in-law Sarah Swank. He was a 1955 graduate of Forbes High School and attended UPJ. Former partner in 3 S Coal with his brothers and former owner of Ringer Oil Company, Oakland, Md. Member of Somerset Lodge 358 F. & A.M. and former member of Somerset Country Club. He enjoyed golfing and hunting. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday Jane Metzgar officiating.
