David Eugene Adams

David Eugene Adams 71, of Berlin, passed away July 22, 2016 at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System surrounded by his loved ones. Born July 21, 1945 in Johnstown, son of the late Ray R. and Pauline E. (Fleegle) Adams. Survived by his wife of 51 years the former Shirley Ann Brady; children: Sheri Ann married to James A. Weisenberger, Stoughton, Mass., Kelly David Adams, Dorchester, Mass., and Elizabeth Ann married to Peyton D. Burchell, Richmond, Va.; grandchildren: Owen and Grace Weisenberger, and Davis and baby Burchell; siblings: I. Richard Adams and wife Bert, Somerset, and Bonnie R. married to Robert Murphy, New Baltimore. He also leaves behind many brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and their families.

Dave was a 1963 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and was a member of the football and basketball teams there. He attended Hartford Airline School in Hartford, Conn. He was a US Army Veteran serving with the HQ Battery V Corps Artillery in Darmstadt, Germany. He was honorably discharged as an SP4 in June of 1967. David moved to Boston, Mass. to pursue his dream of working in the travel industry. There he worked for Trailways of New England as a ticket agent and Trans World Airlines (TWA) as a ramp service agent.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset. David enjoyed traveling, long car rides, riding on his motorcycle, playing cards, antique cars, 50’s and 60’s music, watching his favorite sports teams and spending time with his loved ones, especially in recent years his grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Somerset. No viewing at the church. Rev. Linda McElroy Thomas officiating. Military Rites by Somerset Co. Honor Guard. Inurnment Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Buffalo Mills at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Dave’s memory may be given to Friends of the Pittsburgh Fisher House, 3945 Forbes Ave. #240, Pittsburgh, PA 15213
