Erma Marie Stahl, 81 of Somerset formerly of Stuart, Fla. died Apr. 24, 2015 at The Patriot. Born Oct. 3, 1933 in Somerset County daughter of Thomas and Lorna (Wentz) Bottorff.
Preceded in death by parents; husbands: Vernon William “Pete” Stahl and John A. Datko; brothers: Thomas, Robert, Mervin “Chicko” and James Bottorff; and sisters: Mary Miller, Clara Turner, Anna Mahauchick, Shirley Updyke, and Carol Bottorff.
Survived by children: Linda J. married to Ron Ling, Johnstown,
Barbara A. Koontz and Doug Veres, Stoystown, and
John Datko and wife Dana, New Baltimore;
numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren;
sister Elizabeth “Betty” Walters, and brother Charles (Betty) Bottorff, both of Windber.
She was a graduate of Pennsylvania Academy of Cosmetology, and retired member of International Ladies Garment Workers’ Union. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville. Former member of Hooversville Fire Co. Auxiliary and Stuart Legion Auxiliary.
She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, dancing, and shopping for bargains.
No viewing or visitation at Erma’s request. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Somerset. Monsignor Samuel J. Tomaselli, celebrant.
