Fred M. Flick

Fred M. Flick, 68, of Lake Placid, FL. formerly of Somerset went to be with the Lord on April 2, 2016. Born July 2, 1947 in Somerset, a son of Ray and Cora (Stairs) Flick. Preceded in death by parents; sisters-in-law Barbara Flick and Melody Reese; and mother-in-law Audrey Hawkins. Survived by his wife of 38 years Betty (Firestone) Flick; daughters Loretta (Phil) Wildermuth, Tina Flick and Michelle (Jake) Fishel; 13 grandchildren; 9 great grand children; brothers Robert Flick and James (Pamla) Flick; sisters-in-law: Sally Snyder, Samantha Keller, Suzanne Jones, Barbara Firestone, and Belinda Firestone; brothers-in-law: Greg and Mark Firestone and Randy Keller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was a 1966 graduate of Somerset High School and a combat wounded Vietnam Veteran having proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-67. Retired from Highland Tank and Mfg. Member of First Presbyterian Church of Lake Placid. Lifetime member of the VFW, DAV, and Vietnam Veterans of America. He loved reading and studying his Bible. After moving to Florida his greatest joy was fishing off of his boat. When in Pennsylvania he loved going to his favorite barber shop for coffee and wisdom. Fred was a loving husband, a good friend to everyone and will be missed very much. Family will recieve friends from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Saturday August 27 at St. Paul's U.C.C., Somerset.
