George “Junior” Gumbert, Jr., 79, of Berlin, died Jan. 20, 2018 in Johnstown. Born Nov. 18, 1938 in Berlin, son of George and Leoda (Albright) Gumbert. Preceded in death by parents; and grandson Zachary Glessner. Survived by his wife of 59 years the former Elaine Keefer; daughters: Kathy (Bob) Tataleba, Lori (Ray) Carver, and Melodie (Doug) Glessner; grandchildren: Adam and Alan (Amber) Tataleba, Emily Addair, Kristi (Wes) McElveen, and Bradley (Kim) and Matthew (Raeann) Glessner; and great grandchildren Makenna, Elijah, and Eli. He was a heavy equipment operator for U.M.W.A. and retired from I.U.O.E. Local 66. Member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, Meyersdale Lodge #554 F& AM, Meyersdale B.P.O.E. Lodge #1951, Somerset County Jeep Club, New Baltimore Sportsmen’s Club, and Berlin Fire Dept. George requested no public viewing or service. A private service for the family will be held with Rev.
