Jack D. Weyandt, 95, Shanksville, died Oct. 23, 2016 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Sept. 25, 1921 in Shanksville, son of Homer G. and Lillian M. (Keefer) Weyandt. Preceded in death by parents; first wife the former Florence E. VonMoose; second wife the former LaVerne Steckman; and daughter Janis Dickey. Survived by children: Haydn (Sue) Weyandt, Kathy Bush and companion Larry, and Daiva (Dick) Dickey; son-in-law Dean Dickey; step children: Daniel (Barb) Edmonson, Gloria (Rich) Shaffer, and Robert (Vickie) Edmonson; grandchildren: Liberty, Cody, Darrell, Brandon, Matthew, Missy, Dee, Kris, Jimmy, Karin, Todd, Brian, Noah, Christopher, Jessica, and Tonya; 14 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. He was a WW II Army Air Corps veteran and was a retired insurance agent. Member of Shanksville United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer for many years, Somerset American Legion, and a proud lifetime member of the N.R.A. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shanksville United Methodist Church. Rev. Marlin Miller officiating. Interment Walker Cemetery, Shanksville.
