James Jock, 93, Stoystown, passed away Oct. 13, 2016. Born Nov. 5, 1922 in Hooversville, son of John and Alice (Zubal) Jock. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Ida Hagans on Oct. 19, 2006, brothers: Charles, John, Peter, Andy, and Harry, and sisters: Mary, Fannie, and Nancy. Survived daughter Donna married to Phil Gardner, Somerset, son Donald James Jock, Dover, N.J.; grandchildren: Kristi married to Brad Lorence, Somerset and Kelli married to Jason Belanger, Mount Pleasant; great grandchildren: Adam and Amy Lorence; and Adi and Grayson Belanger; brother George (Mary Ann) Jock, Somerset, sister Linda Bosnyak, Cleveland, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1941 graduate of Hooversville High School, and a proud WW II Navy veteran having served aboard the U.S.S. Langley CVL-27. He was a retired coal miner. He attended Kantner United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
