Joann M. (Royer) Leverknight

Joann M. Leverknight, 82, Stoystown (Kimmelton), went to be with her Lord July 11, 2016. Born March 6, 1934 in Iona, daughter of Joseph K. and Alice (Bucher) Royer. Preceded in death by parents, husband Clyde S. “Bucky,” infant son Clyde Jr., grandson Brian Hause, son-in-law John Hause, sister Grace Krall, and infant sister Dorothy Royer. Survived by children: Karen Russo, Friedens, Kathy Hause-Walker and husband Patrick, Stoystown, and Gary Leverknight and wife Carol, Ellicott City, Md.; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; sister Mildred (Samuel) Gingrich and brother Joseph (Ruth) Royer, all of Palmyra. She was a 1952 graduate of Palmyra High School. Member of Mostoller United Methodist Church since 1952 where she served as pianist and organist, and she enjoyed spending time with friends at the Somerset Senior Center. She was an accomplished pianist and bow hunter who enjoyed working in her yard, and growing flowers. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend with a great sense of humor. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. Friday at Mostoller United Methodist Church. Rev.
