LaVerne F. Page, 95, of Somerset formerly of Shanksville, died Apr. 25, 2016 at The Patriot. Born Nov. 8, 1920 in Central City, daughter of Harry E. and Ruth (Landis) Smith. Preceded in death by parents, husband William J. Page Sr., and sister Marian Pritts. Survived by sons: William J. Jr., Mechanicsburg, and Robert D. married to the former Nancy J. Cox, Garrett; grandson Douglas Eugene Page, Somerset; and sister Lois Hinebaugh, Calif. She was a graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School, retired from Somerset Unemployment Office, and former Shanksville beautician. Member of Shanksville United Methodist Church, Somerset American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, PARSE, and Berlin Area Historical Society. Former member of Stoystown Lioness Club. There will be a private service at the convenience of the family. Interment Friedens Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Shanksville U.M. Church, P.O.
