Lilia Aldine Gorsuch

Lilia Aldine Gorsuch, 76, Hooversville, died Nov. 19, 2017 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born Jan. 9, 1941 in Hooversville, daughter of the late Earl and Evelyn (Hill) Secrest. Survived by her husband of 50 years Robert; daughter Tara married to Mark Lepley, Boswell; grandsons: Thomas Lepley and fiancée Tiffany Miller, and Robert Lepley; sisters: Donna Mae Ogline, Friedens, and Wanetta Escherich, Stoystown; sister-in-law Patricia Gorsuch, Doylestown, OH; brother-in-law Ronald Berkebile, Stoystown; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a 1958 graduate of Forbes High School. A former clerk at the Somerset County Court House. She then worked as the bookkeeper at Daniel Shaffer’s Inc. in Hooversville for many years. Lifetime member of Hooversville Christian Church. Aldine lived a life of joyfully dedicated service to her family, friends, neighbors, and community. Aldine could be found wherever there was a need for help of any kind. She enjoyed baking cookies and other treats for her family and friends. When the Hooversville swinging bridge was destroyed by flood waters in January 1996, Aldine baked hundreds and hundreds of delicious treats to be sold each week at Terlingo’s Economy Store with all profits going to the fund to rebuild the bridge. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Wayne Lasure officiating.
