Marlin Reitz McClintock, 79, Berlin, died July 10, 2015 at home. Born Oct. 31, 1935 in Meyersdale, son of Carl E. and Ethel L. (Reitz) McClintock. Preceded in death by parents, son Douglas, and sister Kathleen Kimmel.
Survived by his wife the former Patricia E. Gurzenda;
son Darrel R. and wife Susan K., Berlin; daughter Deborah J. married to R. Scott Boyer, Somerset; stepson Shannon Pyle and wife Melanie, Black Twp.;
grandchildren: Damon R. McClintock, and Amber married to Logan Dively;
step grandchildren: Andy Baker and wife Amanda, and their children Connor and Kaylee; Leah (Boyer) Malloy and husband Scott and their children Mason and Brady; Angela (Boyer) Brown and husband Wesley and their daughter Maliah; Katie (Pyle) Miller and husband Josiah; Emily Pyle; Rich Hockenberry; Mason Hockenberry; and Robert Pyle.
Marlin was raised in Stonycreek Twp. and a 1954 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School. Graduate of California State Teacher’s College with a Masters degree in Industrial Arts and Audio Visual. He retired from Berlin Brothersvalley School District with 30 years as an Industrial Arts Teacher.
Member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin. Longtime member of Berlin Sportsman’s Club, Mountain Field and Stream Club, Meyersdale Lodge F.&A.M., and Western Maryland Street Rod Assoc.
Hobbies included NASCAR racing, gardening, hunting, fishing, and restoring his 1931 Model A Coupe.
The family thanks Somerset In-Touch Hospice staff and all the friends for their kind care and support.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at Trinity U.C.C., Berlin. Rev. Frank Demmy officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Donations may be made in his memory to Trinity U.C.C. (Sound System Fund), 600 Main St., Berlin, Pa. 15530.
