Mary Alice Shaffer, 84, Kennesaw, Ga.; formerly of Hooverville died on January 17, 2017. Born May 30, 1932 in Hooversville, daughter of Peter and Lena Mae (Gagleard) Jock. Preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband Gerald H. Shaffer; and infant son Hugh Jeffrey Shaffer. Her beautiful life will be forever cherished in the lives of her children: Jeryl Sue (John) Smith of Riverside, Calif.; Mark H. Shaffer of Fenton, Mich.; and Kevin P. Shaffer of Kennesaw, Ga.; grandchildren: Holly Colacchio, Kevin Smith, Teal and Bryce Amthor-Shaffer; great-grandchildren: Madison, Noah, and Levi Chastain-Smith, Keira and Connor Colacchio.; brothers Richard Jock, Stoystown, Raymond Jock, Middleton, and James Jock, Johnstown, and a host of relatives and friends. Mary Alice was a graduate of Hooversville High School. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and baking. Her smile and sense of humor brought much joy to family gatherings.
