Michael Eugene Blake

Michael Eugene Blake, 58, Berlin, went to be with the Lord on Oct. 8, 2015 after a year and a half courageous battle with cancer. Born Jan. 21, 1957 in Meyersdale, son of Beulah (Caton) Cerreta and the late James T. Blake. Preceded in death by father, special uncle Sheridan Caton and a precious little angel Natasha Coddington. Survived by his mother and stepfather Robert Cerreta, Boynton; wife of 19 years the former Cindy (Burkholder), daughter Mistie Dawn Parrish and husband Bill, and son Ryan Jeffrey Blake and girlfriend Ashley Koehler, all of Berlin; beloved sister Deborah Hetz and husband Glen, Garrett; brother Keith Blake, Boynton; and loved by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1976 graduate of Salisbury Elk Lick High School, and a U.S. Navy and National Guard veteran. Retired from SCI Somerset after being employed for 20 years as a corrections officer/sergeant where he developed many meaningful friendships, and previously employed by Mayfair Creamery. Mike was a loving father and husband and was known for his thoughtfulness and willingness to always lend a helping hand to anyone in need and for his caring and compassionate personality. Mike enjoyed spending time with his friends and family as well as golfing and fishing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
