Paula L. Jarosz, 68, Berlin, died May 24, 2016 at Somerset In Touch Hospice House. Born Jan. 23, 1948 in Uniontown, daughter of James and Vera (Baird) Smith. Preceded in death by parents, and sister Barbara Smith. Survived by husband of 48 years Jack Jarosz Sr.; sons: Jack Jarosz Jr., Dallas, and J. Jacob Jarosz and wife Bandy, Fairfield; daughter Leah Kreinbrook and husband Parke, Berlin; grandchildren: Tyler  Fox, Hayden Stackowitz, Zack, Nolan, Addison, and Elijah Jarosz; brother: James Smith and wife Rose, Uniontown; brother-in-law A.J. Jarosz and wife Ellen, Glencoe; sisters-in-law: Mary Pat Lenivy, Tunkhannock, and Cathy King, Baltimore, Md.; and many loved nieces and nephews from all over. She was a 1965 graduate of Uniontown High School. She and her husband were the former owner-operators of Cook’s Store, Glencoe from 1979 to 1984, and part owners of Jake’s Rangers Hunting Lodge for over 40 years. They also owned a home in the woods near Glencoe on Carter Hill. While living in Fairfield area she worked for many years in home health and in various nursing homes. She enjoyed her family and friends from Ohio, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and Alberta, Canada. She loved fishing on their pontoon boat on Deep Creek Lake, and taking cruises to Bermuda, Bahamas, Virgin Islands, San Juan, Puerto Rico, or as Paula once said “Anywhere where it’s warm.” She will be greatly missed by special lady friends that she looked upon as sisters, some going back as far as childhood. She loved her great neighbors and friends at Red Hats. She will also be missed by friends at the Berlin Market and Berlin Pharmacy. A special thanks to the entire staff at Somerset Oncology and In Touch Hospice House, her care at both was wonderful. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Funeral service Saturday 10 a.m. at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. Rev. Marlin Miller officiating.
