Ralph Horner Bassett

Ralph Horner Bassett, 74, Hooversville, died Jan. 24, 2018 at home. Born Jan. 4, 1944 in Hooversville, son of Rev. Harry W. and Ruby E. (Horner) Bassett. Preceded in death by parents; son Brian Dale; and father- and mother-in-law Seward and Kathleen Holsopple. Survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Linda K. Holsopple; children: Daryl L. (Connie) Bassett, Hooversville, Janice E. (Robin) Boyer, Ephrata, Edith K. (Tim) Rhoads, and Denise R. (Keith) Leydig, both of Berlin; 8 grandchildren, 1 step grandson, 1 step great grandson; and sisters: Myrna Baer, Winona (John) Zehner, and Alana (Clair) Saylor. He was a 1961 graduate of Forbes High School and a retired truck driver. Former farmer and bus driver. Member of Jevic Transportation Million Mile Club. No viewing or visitation at Ralph’s request. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Pastor Nila Cogan officiating.
