Robert J. "Bob" Murray

Robert J. “Bob” Murray, 86, Somerset, died Nov. 14, 2016 at home. Born Dec. 18, 1929 in Somerset, son of Wilbert H. and Ruth (Marteeny) Murray. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Susan, and sister Janet Poisal. Survived by wife of 66 years the former Dorene “Sis” Hoffman; children: Craig (Susan) Murray, Randy Murray and Becky Custer, Barb Boxler, Robert “Pudge” Murray, and Shawn (Nancy) Murray, all of Somerset; grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Dean K. Murray, Somerset; and sister Nancy Grimm, Acme. He was a 1947 graduate of Somerset High School and a Korean War Marine Corps. Veteran. He was a self-employed farmer and a school bus driver for Davis Enterprises for 43 years. Member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Lavansville, Stoystown Legion Post 257, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 438. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
