Tillie May Stern 96, of Ebensburg, formerly of Quecreek, died Aug. 1, 2017 at Windber Hospice. Born May 3, 1921 in Acosta, daughter of John and Etta (Marteeny) Holder. Preceded in death by parents, Sadie Herring who raised her, husband John Pershing Stern, son Kenneth Stern, 3 brothers, 1 sister, grandson Edward Ogline, and son-in-law Jack Ogline. Survived by daughters: Deloris married to William Latshaw, Somerset and Helen married to John Bowman, Ebensburg; grandchildren: Susan (Douglas) Spangler, John (Marcia) Whipkey, and Jaclyn (Matthew) Suit; 7 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and special friend Jeannie Diehl. The family would like to thank the staff of Rebekah Manor and Windber Hospice for their loving care, especially Bobbi, Marie, Diane, and Theresa. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Horner – Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Rev. Gary Anderson officiating.
