William D. “Bill” Bruening, Sr., 84, Stoystown, died March 22, 2017 at Windber Hospice. Born May 7, 1932 in Quemahoning Twp., son of Ray and Ethel (Bentz) Bruening. Preceded in death by parents, first wife the former Mae Pyle, and son William Jr. Survived by his wife, the former Donna (Betz) Golembeski; sons: Carson (Michelle), Christopher (Beth Ann), Douglas (Beth Ann), and Timothy (Joanne); step daughters: Mary Jo (Steve) McClucas, Tena (Mark) Damico, and Beth Ann Mostoller; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings: David (Joanne), Kathy Frazee, and Wayne (Joy); and his beloved K-9 companion, Molly. He was a 1950 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School and a Korean War Navy Veteran. He was a retired manager in the retail industry. Bill enjoyed woodworking, working with stained glass, and tole painting. At Bill’s request, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 4 p.m. at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Rev. Patrick Walsh officiating. Military Honors at the funeral home provided by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
