William Edward Carter, 57, Somerset formerly of Ferndale, MI, died May 21, 2017 at home. Born June 24, 1959 in Grosse Pointe, MI, son of the late Edward J. and Kathryn S. (Pile) Carter. Survived by sister Debra (Brian) Wroe, brother Robert (Diane) Carter, both of Ferndale, MI, nieces Emily and Lauren Wroe, and nephew Stephen Wroe. Also survived by longtime friend and roommate Paul Gillingham. He was a 1977 graduate of Hazel Park High School and a 1982 graduate of Michigan State Institute of Technology. He was the owner and operator of his own lawn care and snow removal service. Former member of the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed creating and repairing jewelry, barbecuing, and building grills. Family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday June 24th at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Chaplain Stephanie Betsa officiating.
