William G. Mothersbaugh, Sr., 90, Berlin, went to be with the Lord Aug. 20, 2017 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born April 11, 1927 in N. Braddock, son of John and Sadie (Gindlesperger) Mothersbaugh. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 51 years, the former Beverly “Polly” Custer; brother John, Jr.; and son-in-law David Smith. Survived by daughters: Patty A. Smith and Cindy (Pete) Shroyer, both of Berlin, sons: William (Joan) Mothersbaugh, Jr., Glencoe, and Mike (Carole) Mothersbaugh, Virginia; 14 grandchildren , 7 great grandchildren; sister Carol (Ron) Harned, W. Va.; and very special and loving friend Janet Miller. He was a 1945 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and a US Army Veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, VFW Post 7295 and American Legion Post 445, Berlin, Society of 3rd Infantry Division, Last Man’s Club, and WW II and Korean War Vets. He was a ham radio operator since 1953. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bus trips. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
