William B. "Bill" Shaffer

William B. “Bill” Shaffer, 82, of Berlin, formerly of Friedens, died April 3, 2018 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born Oct. 18, 1935 in Geiger, son of George E. and Mary B. (Fitzgerald) Shaffer. Preceded in death by parents, brother Robert Shaffer, and sister Joan Boyer. Survived by wife of 60 years the former Shirley Miller; children: Patty married to Joe Cummings, Debbie married to Roger Blough, and Dave Shaffer married to the former Amy Tressler; grandchildren: Billy Blough married to the former Michelle Greenwood, Alexa Kreger and friend Lacie Surdick, Cindy married to Justin Delaini, Jake Shaffer and friend Samantha Lehman, Eli Shaffer and friend Jamie Barron, and Ryan Cummings; great grandchildren: Addison Delaini, Waylon Shaffer, Braxton Shaffer, and Weston Blough; sister-in-law Nancy (Ramsell) Shaffer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1953 graduate of Somerset High School and a retired truck driver of 39 years with Highland Tank and Mfg. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church. Lifetime member of Friedens Fire Dept. and last Charter Member of Tall Pines Hunting Camp. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service at 4 p.m. Saturday at Friedens Lutheran Church. Rev.
