William J. "Bill" " Woody" Woodward

William J. “Bill” “Woody” Woodward, 90, of Somerset formerly of Lambertsville, died March 19, 2017 at The Patriot. Born May 9, 1926 in Johnstown, son of Ira L. and Mary M. (Spangler) Woodward. Preceded in death by parents; brother Donald, sister Helen Miller, brothers-in-law: Nelson Miller and Paul Ream, and great nephew Christopher Ream. Survived by sister Alice Ream, Somerset; niece Sue (Jerry) Schimpf, Somerset; nephews: Donald Ream, Somerset, Larry (Sandy) Miller, Ohio, and David (Patricia) Miller, Texas; two great nieces and six great nephews. He was a graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School and was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. Member of Shanksville United Methodist Church where he served in various offices, Shanksville American Legion Post 911, Somerset Historical Society, and was the caretaker for Lambertsville Cemetery for many years. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wed. at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Marlin Miller officiating.
