Olive Mae Gooden, 73, Fairhope, died Jan. 5, 2014 at home. Born Mar. 21, 1940 in Shanksville, daughter of Harmon and Alma (Snyder) Weyant.
Preceded in death by parents; daughter Linda Scott Gooden; brothers: Howard and Ross Weyant; and sisters: Hazel Gindlesperger and Lois Miller.
Survived by children: James R. Jr. and wife Linda, Fairhope,
Howard D. and wife Barbara, Kingsland, Ga.,
Sara Borelle and husband Paul, S.C.,
Pamela Patton, Jennerstown, and
Daniel A., Louisa, Va.;
15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren;
brothers: Clair Weyant and wife Dorothy, Shanksville,
Hubert “Tip” Weyant and wife Midge, Indian Lake,
Norman Weyant and wife Judy, Friedens,
Ernest Weyant and wife Loretta, Berlin; and
sister-in-law: Carolyn Weyant, Somerset; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a 1958 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School. Retired from Snyder of Berlin after 28 years. She was a former first responder with Berlin Ambulance. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin where service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Rev. Sylvia Baker officiating. Interment Fishertown Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be given to Somerset In Touch Hospice, P.O. Box 1173, Somerset, PA 15501.

To the family of Olive Gooden I am sending my deepest sympathy. Olive was was a wonderful person to work with at Snyder of Berlin. She was honest, dependable and a hard worker. She always had an excellent work ethic and I enjoyed talking with her at work. May God bless her and you her family.
