Duane C. Walker

Duane C. Walker, 88, Somerset (Lincoln Twp.), died April 20, 2024 under hospice care. Born May 13, 1935 in Shanksville, son of Willard W. and Ethel E. (Clites) Walker. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Janet Hummel, son Price, and brothers Dale and DeVon Walker. Survived by sons: Wade (Marcia) and Emery (Theresa) Walker; daughter-in-law Joyce Walker; grandchildren: Clay (Michele) and Drew (Morgan) Walker, Celeste (Joshua) Decker, Spencer ( Lindsay) Walker, Monica (Gary) Bond, Blake (Courtney), Brady (Lyndsay), and Abigail Walker; great grandchildren: Jace, Jaxon, Briar, Waylon, Addilyn, Colt, Caydence, Camdyn, Emma, Ezra, Gavin, Nova, Troy, Elias, and a baby girl due in June; and sister Celestea Tataleba. He was a 1953 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School and was a US Army veteran. Duane was a retired truck driver. Member of Zion-Hoffman Lutheran Church. He enjoyed working around the house, working on John Deere tractors, and spending time with his family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion-Hoffman Lutheran Church, 577 Hoffman Church Rd., Friedens, PA 15541. Vicar Allen Stump officiating.
