Gorgine M. (Horning) Gardner

Gorgine M. Gardner, 96, Berlin, died March 23, 2024 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born May 6, 1927 in Berlin, daughter of George and Flora (Kendall) Horning. Preceded in death by parents, husband Guy F. Gardner, Sr., son Guy, Jr., infant daughter Gwen, brothers Eugene and Ronald Horning, and sisters Phyllis Brant, Frances Brant, and Joan Coleman. Survived by her son Gary (Joyce) Gardner; granddaughter Hayley; sister Annette Rowley; sister-in-law Janelle Horning; and lifelong friend and neighbor Nellie Watkins. She was a graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. She was a former grocery store clerk and telephone operator. Member of Beachdale Church of the Brethren where she formerly taught Sunday school, Bible school, and served as treasurer. She enjoyed flower gardening and cats. The family would like to thank the staff at Meadow View for the wonderful care over the past eight years. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Tammy Horner officiating. Interment Beachdale Cemetery.
