Alfred R. “Boots” Christner, 94, of Bartow, FL, formerly of Berlin, died March 21, 2019 at Good Shepherd Hospice, Lakeland, FL. Born Nov. 2, 1924 in Garrett, son of Earl and Lela (Baughman) Christner. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Kathryn Bowser, daughter Susan, brother Orville, and sisters Betty Clay and Margaret White. Survived by son David and wife Linda, Bartow, FL; daughter Beverly Anderson, Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and a retired heavy equipment operator and mechanic from Union Local 66. Member of Berlin American Legion and V.F.W., The Last Man’s Club, and North Branch Hunting Club. No viewing or visitation. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Berlin I.O.O.F.
