Connie J. Bruening

Connie J. Bruening, 79, Stoystown, died Aug. 26, 2017 at Siemon Lakeview Manor. Born May 4, 1938 in Somerset, daughter of Oscar and Mary Naomi (Durand) Bruening. Preceded in death by parents, son Glenn “Bill” Zerfoss and brother Daniel “Sonny” Bruening. Survived by sons: Rodney Zerfoss and Stephen Kristoff married to the former Dee Mostoller, both of Stoystown; “best friend she ever had” Domnick Corden; grandsons: William and Rodney (Hope) Zerfoss, and Seth (Carly) and Randy Kristoff; 2 lovely great granddaughters; sisters: Kay Donia and Lois Spaulding; brother Budd (Pam) Bruening; sisters-in-law: Beverly and Phyllis Bruening; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a 1956 graduate of Forbes High School. Former waitress as Stash’s Restaurant, and former employee of Dorfman-Hoffman Sewing Factory, Boswell. Member of Kantner United Methodist Church. She enjoyed dancing, photography, meeting new people, and making friends. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown where service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Rich Pearson officiating.
