David Frank “Brookie” Tomko, Sr., 77, Hooversville, passed away unexpectedly Jan. 3, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Born Aug. 9, 1940 in Wilbur, son of Andrew and Anna (Druhaloski) Tomko. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Robert, Richard, and Andrew, and sisters Nancy Fello, Marge Klun, Ann Toma, and Delores “Dee” Peterman. Survived by his wife of 57 years, the former Donna Angelo; sons: David Tomko, Jr. married to the former Marie Hartzel, Greensburg, and Douglas Tomko married to the former Melissa Biscardi, Bentleyville; grandchildren: Kyle Tomko and fiancée Katie Uhring, Lindsey married to Andrew Stone, and Sarah, Matthew, Jenna, and Luke Tomko; brothers: Joseph “Smokey” (Barb) and Steve Tomko; and sisters: Linda (Brian) Lievens and Diane (Roland) Wilt. He was a 1958 graduate of Shade High School. Former employee of REA Express and managed several furniture stores in the area. Member of several area sportsmen’s clubs, former Mayor of Hooversville, and an avid outdoorsman and “wild-crafter”. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Joseph Caola officiating.
