Donald Lester Shaffer

Donald Lester Shaffer, 78, of Somerset formerly of Kimmelton, passed away Aug. 25, 2018 at Siemon’s Lakeview Manor under the care of Heartland Hospice. Born Apr. 4, 1940 in Kimmelton, son of the late Bert and Anita (Sipe) Shaffer. Survived by his brother David married to the former Karen Walker, Somerset. He was a 1958 graduate of Forbes High School where he was involved in band and chorus, and a Vietnam War Army Veteran. Retired custodian from Somerset Co. Court House. Member of Somerset Alliance Church. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. A private service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Rev. Don Robson officiating.
