Edward M. Matse

Edward M. Matse, 84, Chambersburg, died Jan. 2, 2019 at Chambers Pointe Nursing Center. Born Sept. 1, 1934 in Hooversville, son of John and Mary (Mattie) Matse. Preceded in death by parents, and brother George. Survived by his wife of 56 years the former Anna Mae Oster; brother John, Windber; sisters-in-law: Margaret Powell, Doris (Leonard) Mastrocola, Dorothy Meinke, Louise Peterman, and Barbara (Paul) Muro; brother-in-law Walter E. (Betty) Oster; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was a 1954 graduate of Forbes High School and a Korean War Army Veteran. Retired from Washington D.C. Department of Corrections. Member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg. He enjoyed all sports. Viewing from noon until 1:45 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, followed by a Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville. Rev. Karl Kolodziejski OFM Conv.
