Effie Mae (Thomas) Maurer

Effie Mae Maurer, 93, Hooversville, went to Heaven Dec. 19, 2019. Born March 13, 1926 in Conemaugh Twp., daughter of Edward J. and Annie (Thomas) Thomas. Preceded in death by parents, husband Carl E., son Charles E., great granddaughter Faith Patricia Maurer, and brother Dorsie Thomas. Survived by daughter-in-law LaDonna (Miller) Maurer; grandsons: Chad Maurer and special friend Kelly Lease and Craig Maurer married to the former Megan Jeschonek; great grandchildren: Mollie Weis married to Chuck Skelly, and Cheyenne and Grace Maurer; and sister Sue Hershberger. She was a 1946 graduate of Conemaugh Twp. High School. Member of Kantner Assembly of God, where she had served as treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and kitchen boss. She enjoyed camping, crossword puzzles, eating out, and her faithful companion Bo. Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Monday at Kantner Assembly of God. Rev. Vaughn Burkett and Deacon Denise Bittner officiating. Interment Beam Cemetery.
