Evelyn Mae (Harkcom) Platt

Evelyn Mae Platt, 89, Berlin, went to be with the Lord May 5, 2018 at home. Born Dec. 21, 1928 in Somerset, daughter of Smith and Verda Mae (Adams) Harkcom. Preceded in death by parents, husband Richard Glenn Platt, grandchildren Todd D. Krause and Lisa M. Sredy, brothers Wayne and Fred Harkcom, sisters Thelma Fisher, Sara Bent, and Jean Kline, and son-in-law Albert Hutzell. Survived by children: Richard Platt Jr. and wife Susan, and Sandra Lynn Hutzell; grandsons: Joseph (Krista) Krause, and Michael (Denail) Platt; great grandchildren: Sara and Hanna Sredy, Madeline and Lydia Krause, and Stephen, Emily, and Cassidi Platt; and brother James (Arlene) Harkcom. She was a graduate of Somerset High School. Member of Happy Valley Baptist Church, Somerset. The family wishes to thank Interim Hospice and Meyersdale Hospital for their care. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday May 26th at Happy Valley Baptist Church, 1938 N. Center Ave., Somerset, PA 15501. Rev. Barry Ferguson officiating.
