Harry Edward "Eddie" Bentrim

Harry Edward “Eddie” Bentrim, 91, Stoystown, died January 25, 2019 at Somerset In Touch Hospice House. Born Feb. 22, 1927 in Everett, son of Elmer Edward and Hazel (Feight) Bentrim. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Janet O’Connor, son Terry L. Zolla, sisters: Jean (John) Phillippi and Margaret Bentrim, and nephew John Phillippi. Survived by children: Cindi married to Russell Tomko, Shanksville, Kelly married to David Kimberling, Olney, MD, and George A. Zolla married to the former Cheryl Stutzman, San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Christine (Alx Sanchez) Zolla, Shawn (Shannon) Zolla, Meghan and Ryan Kimberling, and Shaun Tomko; great grandchildren: Gabriel and Holly Zolla, Chad Salem, and Rylee, Camren, and Carsen Tomko; nephew James (LeeAnn) Phillippi and family; brother-in-law Gary (Mary) Penrod; and dear friend Joan Zimmerman. He was a 1945 graduate of Stoystown High School. World War II and Korean War Navy Veteran. Retired from PennDOT. Member of Robert P. Hite Post 257 American Legion, Stoystown, and Stoyestown Area Historical Society. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed passing along his knowledge to his nephews and family friends. He was a fan of boxing, football, basketball, and Pirates baseball. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until a service at 3 p.m. Saturday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.
