Helen Marie (Emerick) Fieg Stowers

Helen Marie Fieg Stowers, 78, Stoystown, died April 23, 2018 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born April 26, 1939 in Jenners, daughter of Curtis and Mary (Yoder) Emerick. Preceded in death by parents, first husband Fred Fieg, second husband Louis Stowers, son Kevin Fieg, grandson Luke James Fieg, sisters Dorothy Meyers, Mary Jane Ohler, and Betty Emerick, and brother William Emerick. Survived by her son Scott Emerick Fieg and wife Kathleen, Stoystown; step daughter Shelley Marie Stowers, Depoe Bay, OR; daughter-in-law Gay Fieg, Ligonier; granddaughters: Lori (Eric) Kent, Lisa Fieg and fiancé Dylan Cardiff, April Hewitt and Cody Glessner, Amber (John) Oakes, and Aleesa Fieg; great grandchildren Genevieve, Christopher, and Charles Kent, and Rory Glessner; sisters: Sally Rice, and Alberta (Everett) Burt; brother James (Linda) Emerick; and special caregiver Brenda Weigle. She was a 1957 graduate of Forbes High School and a retired Activities Coordinator from Somerset State Hospital. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church and former member of Faith Lutheran Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, friends, playing cards, gardening, and traveling. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Friday at Friedens Lutheran Church. Rev. Doug Knupp officiating. Interment Mizpah Cemetery.
