Jodell Joanne Zimmerman, 60, of Stoystown (Kantner), went to her eternal home on Feb. 11, 2018 surrounded by her family at Conemaugh Hospital after a 2 year battle with cancer. Jodell was a 1975 graduate of Forbes Campus North Star High School and a graduate of Conemaugh School of Nursing. Jodell worked as a Registered Nurse at the Somerset Hospital Emergency Room and later at Somerset Family Practice with co-workers who she fondly referred to as her “work family.” Jodell was very active at her church, Kantner United Methodist, serving as organist, head of the children’s department, and member of the New Wind Praise and Worship band. She also enjoyed reading, scrapbooking, gardening, going away to the family camp in Potter County with her husband and family, and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Jodell is survived by her husband of 37 years, Tom "Turk” Zimmerman who she referred to as the love of her life, children Courtney Weaver (Ryan Weaver) and Miranda Spada (David Spada), her grandchildren Paige and Jordan Weaver, mother Joanne Super (late Joe Super), sisters Bonnie Mills (Dr. John Mills) and Sherry Walker (Kenny Walker), in-laws Thomas and Verdean Zimmerman, Jim and Donna Zimmerman, and John and Christine Zimmerman, along with many nieces, nephews, and great nieces. A celebration of Jodell’s life will be held at Kantner United Methodist Church on Saturday Feb. 17th from 1 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kantner United Methodist Church, 626 Forbes Rd., Stoystown, PA 15563 to be used for the children's ministry she so dearly loved and directed.
