Karen Marie Edwards, 57, Friedens, died Dec. 16, 2019 at Meyersdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born Feb. 28, 1962 in San Jose, CA, daughter of Richard Allen and Ruth Etta (Zeigler) Mortimer. Preceded in death by parents and step son Karl Ansell. Survived by daughter April Morales her “lil Ape-Ape”; love of her life Keith B. Ansell Sr.; step sons: Keith B. (Anne) Ansell Jr., and Kent B. (Amanda) Ansell; 6 step grandchildren; sisters Cheryl Anderson and Kathie Shaffer; brother Rick Mortimer; and her Ansell family members.

She went to High School and LPN School in California. She loved gambling, her cats Key Puss and Snuggles, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Laurel Mountain Chapel, Rockwood. Pastor Don Judy officiating. Cremation arrangements entrusted to Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.
