Leon Ernest “Pappy” Rhodamer, 89, Sheep Ridge Rd., Somerset, died Nov. 1, 2018 at Meyersdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born Aug. 3, 1929 in Somerset, son of Charles and Linnie (Platt) Rhodamer. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Frances Baer, infant daughter Lori, great grandson Gage Baumgardner, sisters: Orpha Stern, Edna Gilmore, Hazel McLaney, April May Berkley, and Pauline Will, and brother Lloyd. Survived by children Amy married to Thomas Peterman, Friedens, Thomas and Charles, both of Somerset, Jane married to Dale Baumgardner, Friedens, Barbara married to Corey Muro, Stoystown, Mark married to the former Susie Mognet, Rockwood, and Leon J., Somerset; grandchildren: Abby, Tyler, Cody, Kasey, Nicole, Nathan, Hunter, Katie, Miranda, Brandon, Brittany, and Tanner; great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Dakota, David, Zander, and Felicity. He was a graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School and a Korean War Army Veteran. Retired Stonycreek Twp. farmer. Member of Brothersvalley Church of the Brethren. He enjoyed his John Deere collection, going for car rides, farming, and spending time with his grandkids and his cats. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. Christopher Forry officiating.
