Merle Richard "Rick" Flick

Merle Richard “Rick” Flick, 70, Friedens, died Jan. 27, 2019 at home. Born Aug. 1, 1948 in Somerset, son of Merle Kenneth and Fern Virginia (Dixon) Flick. Preceded in death by parents, and sister Patricia Flick. Survived by his wife of 45 years the former Martha Snyder; children: Malissa married to Roger Brant, Friedens, and Steven and fiancée Linda, Central City; grandchildren: Brandon Brant (Felicia Wilson), Destiny Brant, Mackenzie and A.J. Jackson, and Brandon Emerick; brother James Flick; sisters: Kay Snyder and Rhonda (Robert) Haupt; and faithful companion Fydo. He was a graduate of Somerset High School and a Vietnam War Navy Veteran. Retired Heavy Equipment Operator. Member of Unity United Church of Christ, and a lifetime member of Shanksville Vol. Fire Dept. Viewing from 3 p.m. until service at 5 p.m. Thursday at Unity United Church of Christ, Huckleberry Hwy., Berlin. Military Rites by Somerset Co. Honor Guard. Rev. Jay Shaffer officiating.
