Nevin Arthur Lambert, Jr., 72, passed away on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin. Born June 28, 1946 in Somerset, he was the eldest son of Nevin A. and Dona (Coley) Lambert of Stoystown, PA. Preceded in death by parents, and younger brother James Frederick Lambert on July 31, 1991. Survived by siblings: William Dean (Carolyn) Lambert, Shanksville, and Nancy (Edwin) Saxman, Summerfield, NC; sister-in-law Gloria Lambert, Berlin; six nieces and nephews: James Saxman, Raleigh, NC, Elizabeth (Kristian) Underwood, Asheville, NC, Matthew (Casey) Lambert, Germany, Adam (Brianna) Lambert, Billings, MT, Stephanie Lambert, Berlin, and Christy Lambert, Grantsville, MD; and one great niece Olivia Saxman, Raleigh, NC. Nevin graduated from Shanksville Stonycreek High School in l964 and was an active member of Shanksville United Methodist Church for many years. He served on various committees and as an usher for the church. He lived and worked on the family farm his entire life. Following the tragedy on September 11, 2001, Nevin became a frequent volunteer at the nearby Temporary Flight 93 Memorial, where he met and talked to many family members and offered comfort to them. The family wishes to thank all the staff and nurses at Meadow View Nursing Center in Berlin for their care and patience as well as the kindness they extended to Nevin during the last several years. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service at 1 p.m. Saturday, August, 25, at Shanksville United Methodist Church. Pastor Marlin Miller officiating.
