Ralph Berkebile

Ralph Berkebile, 92, Stoystown, died Apr. 16, 2019 at The Patriot. Born Dec. 16, 1926 in Kantner, son of Steward and Nora (Pletcher) Berkebile. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Ruby G. Shaffer, brothers: William, Victor, and Ceylon, and sister Elma Louise Pugh. Survived by children: Arnold married to the former Susan Sheeler, Friedens, and Timothy married to the former Wanda Chowan, Hooversville; grandchildren: Becky (James) Mullen, Matt, Ben (Angela), and Jason Berkebile; and great grandchildren: Benson, Piper, and Caden. He was a World War II Army Veteran. Retired from Bethlehem Steel with 33 years of service, and former employee of Lohr Implements. Member of Mostoller United Methodist Church where he held many offices, and Boswell American Legion Post 461. He enjoyed hunting, working at the church, and spending time with family. The family would like to thank the Patriot for all their care of “Pap”. Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mostoller United Methodist Church. No viewing at the church. Pastor Joe Caola officiating. Interment church cemetery.
