Richard W. Grine Sr.

Richard W. Grine Sr., 71, Stoystown (Lambertsville), died Oct. 13, 2017 at VA Medical Center, Pittsburgh. Born Nov. 5, 1945 in Stoystown, son of Robert and Margaret (Bentz) Grine. Preceded in death by parents, son Richard Jr., daughter Tammy Pepon, and brothers Bruce and Paul. Survived by his wife of 39 years the former Durinda Kay “Rindy” Myers; daughter: Billi Jo (Ron) Nulton, Stoystown; grandchildren: Josh Leasock, Jessica Shoemaker, Neo Roskie, Kendra, Gillian, and Tyrese Nulton, and Grant Wenzel; great grandchildren Gabriel Custer and Emilee Shoemaker; son-in-law Michael Pepon; sisters Nancy (David) Tipton and Charolette (Paul) Marker; sister-in-law Connie Grine; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1964 graduate of Forbes High School and a Vietnam Army Veteran. Retired owner/operator of Grine’s Service Center, Shanksville. Member of Unity United Church of Christ and Stoystown American Legion Post 257, and life member of Shanksville Volunteer Fire Dept. and Central City V.F.W. Post 7457. He enjoyed his retirement and spending time with family and friends. Family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Unity U.C.C. No viewing in church. Rev. Jay E. Shaffer officiating.
