Ronald B. Coleman, 90, of Laurel View Village formerly of Hooversville, died July 24, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Jan. 29, 1929 in Hooversville, son of Orange and Rebecca (Gindlesperger) Coleman. Preceded in death by parents, son Ronald Kevin, brothers Kenneth and Edwin Coleman, and sister Elizabeth Lohr. Survived by his wife of 67 years the former Iris Custer; daughter Hope (Ric) Donati, Walkersville, MD; and grandchildren: Jason (Caitlin) Donati and Justin Donati, both of Baltimore, MD, and Tyler and Bradley Coleman, both of Ligonier; daughter-in-law Diane, Ligonier; nephews: Rick (Felicia) Lohr, Fred (Judy) Coleman, John (Cindy) Custer; nieces: Kirsten Rapp and Ingrid (Jack) Crites; and his granddogs. He was a 1946 graduate of Hooversville High School and a 1950 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He was a Korean War Navy Officer, serving on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wright and the destroyer U.S.S. McNair. Retired systems payroll supervisor for Penelec. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville, where he served on the church council, Hooversville Lions Club, where he was a Melvin Jones Fellowship recipient, Hooversville V.F.W., Somerset Lodge 358 F & AM, Penelec Ampheres, and former member of Hooversville Borough Council. He was also a past Boy Scout Leader, an avid Steeler fan, having attended Super Bowl XLIII, and golfer, who was proud of getting a hole-in-one. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville where a Lions club service will be held at 8 p.m. Viewing from 12:30 p.m. until service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville.
