Shirley Ann (Gindlesperger) Berkey

Shirley Ann Berkey, 81, Stoystown, died unexpectedly June 23, 2019 at home. Born Oct. 4, 1937 in Somerset, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Veres) Gindlesperger. Preceded in death by parents, husband Milford W. Sr., and sister Nina Shaffer and her husband Fred.  Survived by children: Kimberly D., Stoystown, Roxann D. married to Timothy Mapes, Berlin, and Milford W. Jr., married to the former Glenda Yutzy, Amissville, VA; grandsons: Tyler James Berkey and fiancée Taylor Case and Conner Wayne Berkey. Also survived by special cousin Darlene Rohde and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Forbes High School. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville and Somerset Hospital Auxiliary. Former volunteer at Conemaugh Hospital and Cambria-Somerset Council Conference at the Slopes. She enjoyed gambling, family beach trips and spending time with her grandsons. Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown where a service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Felicia Swartz officiating.
