Walter Edward Oster, 86, Somerset, died March 9, 2019 at Somerset In Touch Hospice House. Born Nov. 25, 1932 in Somerset, son of Charles and Anna (Vinosky) Oster. Preceded in death by parents, and first wife the former Isabel McKenzie. Survived by his wife the former Betty Sager Manges; sons: Charles married to the former Karen Trimpey and Jeffrey married to the former Debra Cooper, both of Johnstown; grandchildren: Melissa Maust, Charles John Oster Jr., and Jessica Oster; step grandchildren: Amanda Sadler and Angie Trimpey; great grandchildren: Anthony and Brittany Maust, and Kyleigh and Colton Oster; step children: Connie (David) Welch, Berlin, Sandra (Terry) Hinson, New Paris, and Danny (Marcia) Manges, Quarryville; sisters: Margaret Powell, Doris (Leonard) Mastrocola, twin sister Dorothy Meinke, Anna Mae Matse, Louise Peterman, and Barbara (Paul) Muro. He was a graduate of Conemaugh Township High School and a Korean War Army Veteran. Retired salesman for McAneny Brothers. He was a lifelong Steeler fan and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and Jelly. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown where service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Gary Anderson officiating.
