William L. Hayman, 76, Stoystown, died March 16, 2019. Born Dec. 4, 1942 in Somerset, son of William and Mary Louise (Shafer) Hayman. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Carol Berkebile, sister Shirley Leshok, brother-in-law Albert, and niece Lisa. Survived by nephews: Scott Buchanan, Valencia, and Terry (Susan) Buchanan, Stoystown; great nieces and nephew: Sydney, Madyson, and Parker Buchanan; great great nephews: Cole and Wyatt Buchanan; and sister-in-law Cecelia Buchanan, Stoystown. He was a 1960 graduate of Somerset High School and a Vietnam War Air Force veteran. He retired from GTE after 31 years. Member of American Legion Post 257, Stoystown, and the Quemahoning Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Pitt Panther fan, and enjoyed watching the Penguins and Pirates as well. He loved to travel to Las Vegas with his wife Carol and friends. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Wanda Ross officiating. Interment Somerset County Memorial Park. A Legion service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday. Military Honors at the funeral home by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
