William Stephen Maneer, 79 of Orlando, FL, native of Somerset County, died Dec. 1, 2019 in Orlando. Born June 28, 1940 in Somerset, son of William Joseph Maneer and Louise Josephine (Sedei) Maneer. Preceded in death by parents and brother Clarence “Bud” Maneer.
Survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Jean Maneer; brother Robert Lewis “Skip” (Rose) Maneer, Phoenix, AZ; and sister Jill Louise (Ronald) Kolonich, Summerville, SC.
Bill graduated as valedictorian in 1958 from Forbes High School, Kantner, and started his mathematics and physics career at Juniata College, Clarion State College, Wayne State University on a National Science Foundation Scholarship in Math/Physics, and at Purdue University in a two year program at its Mathematics Institute. Bill taught math at Cal State University, Bakersfield, CA, Rollins College (a private school), Orlando, and Valencia College, Orlando. His hobbies consisted of chess, canvas painting, gardening, and healthy walking.
