Allan Gene "Speedy" Young

Allan Gene “Speedy” Young, 74, of Stonycreek Twp., died Dec. 31, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, due to complications of Covid-19. Born May 31, 1946 in Somerset, son of Rayford and Pauline (Landis) Young. Preceded in death by parents, and brothers: Verlyn and Terry. Survived by his wife of 48 years the former Karen Ray; children: Tracie (Douglas) Walker, Dawn (Justin) Boozer, and Scott (Brittany) Young; best Pap to grandchildren: Zachary (Laura), Maggie, and Ty Walker, Tara and Kori Boozer, and Mia and Tanner Young; great grandchildren: Joseph and Arzella Walker; and sister Loretta (Ernest) Weyant. He was a 1964 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School. Former carpenter for Local 1419, Johnstown, Local 423, Altoona, and Darr Construction. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, camping, and watching the Steelers. No visitation or service at his request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
