August 6, 1940 ~ July 28, 2020 (age 79)

Obituary

Alma Kay Henzler, 79, of Friedens, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 following a brave battle with cancer.  She was born on August 6, 1940 in Westmoreland County, daughter of the late Arthur and Hazel (Becker) Williams.  Her family and friends called her Kay.  Kay worked at Sweeney's Restaurant as a young teenager.  She went on to work for Matway Chevrolet for many years and retired at the age of 73 from Ogden Newspaper Company.  She was a member of the Stoystown Lioness Club and Friedens Lutheran Church. Kay was an incredibly generous and kind woman who knew what was important in life, always sharing her life with everyone.  She traveled the world but had a love for Disney World.  After spending their honeymoon at Disney World in Florida, she and the love of her life (Hank) just kept going back, enjoying many vacations and lots of memories there.  We lost count after thirteen trips.  Kay also loved crocheting and enjoyed giving away her projects.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Lucy Steller.  Surviving along with her husband Hank are her daughters: Catherine (John) Mihalik, Rebecca Paterson (Duane) Hillegas, Charlene (Carlen) Collins, and Sandy (Dean) Sickenberger; son Craig (Candace) Henzler; nine grandchildren: Matthew (Amanda) Mihalik, Michael (Kelly) Mihalik, Christian and Madison Hillegas, Dominic Collins, Alexander and Annalise Henzler, and Ryan and Chase Sickenberger; one great grandson Mason Mihalik; one brother Walter (Sally) Williams; many nieces and nephews; and last but not least their dear friends Dieter and Gisela Bolch.  Regrettably, due to the COVID-19 pandemic there will be no public visitation.  Private services will be held at the Friedens Lutheran Church. Rev. John Barichivich officiating. Interment will be in the Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, Route 30, North Huntingdon.  Arrangements entrusted to Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown.  The family suggests memorial contributions in Kay's name be made to: American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
