Alvin Richard Lambert, 92, Greenville, formerly of Berlin, died June 1, 2020 at the Cleveland Clinic. Born Oct. 28, 1927 in Central City, son of Guy Statler and Jennie May (Mowry) Lambert. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former H. Jeanne Altfather, son Alvin Richard “Rick” Lambert Jr., sister Erma Halverson, and brother Charles Lambert. Survived by daughters: Beth Preston, Greenville, and Aimee (Ed) Stutzman, Somerset; daughter-in-law Karen Lambert, Grandy, NC; grandchildren: Lindsay Shull, Caitlyn McConnell, David Preston, Katie Spruell, Mollie Walker, and Bryan Lambert; and great grandchildren: Hannah, Alice, Clare, Cyrus, Hailey, Gray, and Onyx. He was a 1945 graduate of Shade High School. He was a heavy equipment operator for Decker Coal and Weiss Bros., and retired from Southern Allegheny Landfill. Member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, Berlin Lions Club, and Berlin Food Pantry. Lifetime member of the NRA. Former member of Berlin Municipal Water Authority and Berlin Borough Council. He enjoyed hunting, the Boy Scouts, wood working, and spending time with his family. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service at 2 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin.
